My Love Affair

I am Bahamian mentally with American tenancies and Floridian sensibility, lol I kinda jacked that from Lupe. I so do not fit in with my fellow Bahamians being that I spent all of my childhood in Florida but none the less I am here in the Bahamas and missing the states tremendously. I thought I would put together a list of some of the things I miss the most. I say some cause we don't have time for me to list all.

First things first, I miss the stores..Oh how i miss the stores and I'm not talking clothing stores either.I'm talking the convenience super stores like Target, Walmart, Walgreen's hell I'd even take a K-mart here. Me and my boys (i had alot of male friends refer to Why Women get on my nerves for further info) would walk round Super walmart at 2 o'clock in the morning acting stupid and playing games. Bored at the wee hours of the morning? Walmart is always open. Ain't shat open after 12 o'clock here hell try 10 o 'clock.

I'm sure you all know by now that I love FOOD! So it's only fitting I miss the chain food restaurants. We have the big names here like Mcdonald's, Burger King, KFC and Wendy's but that's it. Not many choices right?, now you understand my dilema when i say i'm hungry but have no idea what to eat. Oh, and if that isn't bad enough ain't no damn dollar menu's either. Do you know what i would do to get me some fries from Checkers, some chicken nuggets from Chic-fil-a, some chicken and rice from Popeyes, any damn thing from Long John Silver and last, a friggen nacho chese chalupa from Taco Bell? My mouth is salivating, excuse for a minute please....

The next thing I miss is how cheap everything is in the states. Gas here is still damn near $6.00 and don't get me started with how much food costs in the grocery store. Put it this way my first time going to the grocery store I came out depressed and I was like that for at least a week and a half. Clothes, electronics, bills, food, cars, everything is at least double in price here. Granted we don't have taxes but we do have duty and customs which are hella worse than taxes.

And last but certainly not least, I miss the MEN!!!!! ~sigh~ I don't really feel like talking bout it *sniffle*. Let's see how I can describe this, in the states you have a wide variety of men to choose from. Here? not so much. I honestly think I will be single and celibate for the rest of my life or until Ican move back. *sniffle*
But for now I guess visits will have to do...
And I should also add I'm proud though to be a Bahamain.
