Today is the anniversary of September 11th i am sure you all know, and because we feel so close to all of our readers, we decided to share with yall what we were doing @ that time in out lives, and we want yall to do the same....

Chrissy...

I was @ home in the bed sleeping my oldest was maybe 2 in a half or 3 @ the time and every morning when her daddy got up she got up with him he made her her breakfast and left for work, he ALWAYS turned the tv on for her cause he knew i was gonna be sleeping, lol she was a smart kid so she knew how to flip channels and stuff, i am KNOCKED out and i can hear her voice saying mommy wake-up look, i was like girl i am not about to watch Dora and a talking backpack, she left me alone, like 5 mins after that my phone rang and my momma was yelling TURN THE TV TO A NEWS CHANNEL NOW... i was like which one and why is something wrong with Shad (my older brother, i am thinking lawd this nigga in a shootout or a chase with the police..) she like naw just put it on any news channel, i turned over to grab the remote to turn it rub the sleep out my eyes and saw the 2nd plane hit and thought why is my momma telling me to watch a movie?????? I had a job interview that day too, i didn't go, my boyfriend, who is now my hubby came home from work, and didn't go back that day. I remember that every single channel including MTV, BET even Nickelodeon was doing coverage, i was scared for a long time after this attack happened, just afraid that this was it, my lil safe world was over..

Bahama

It was 1st period at my high school I was in 10th grade and the teacher was talking about ideas for our high school news show, I wasn't even paying attention. The teacher got cut off in mid-sentence by a phone ring, i later found out it was the principal telling my teacher to turn all the T.V's across the school to CNN. We didn't know what was going on but he went in the control room and did something and our t.v changed from our school slide show to CNN. The intercom buzzed and the principal came online and asked if everyone could please turn there televisions on right away. A few minutes after she said that the second plane went into the tower and i remember it was like time froze, you could hear people scream when the plane hit the second tower. It was unbelievable, everyone was in shock and crying. They locked the school down completely you couldn't get in and you couldn't get out. Cell phones started going off, parents were calling their kids and kids were calling parents. It seemed like a scene out of movie, we didn't do school work that day. I remember coming home and turning the t.v on and not changing it from CNN. To try and describe the emotions would be pointless but I don't ever want to feel that way again.

Rest In peace to all those lives that were lost and we will always remember...

I was a freshman at my University...tryna be cute and fell down three steps..lol...so I had to go to the hospital womp womp so I was home with a sprained ankle on that Monday (I think it was a Mon right?)...

So being the young sexy thang I was, I was tryna get some while I was home from my ex...both my parents were at work...I'm layed up in they bed w my ankle all wrapped up! They both worked for the same company right downtown...which is in close proximity to the White House...

So I'm tryna be slick and call my mama to see that time they was gon be home and all the lines is busy when I'm tryna call her...some message came over the phone talkin bout a national emergency it was just crazy! Then I see on the tv all these people walkin over bridges in shit..and I'm just so scared that my mama and daddy weren't safe..all the cellphone companies were busy and I couldn't get thru...

They came home like hours later, since it was traffic everywhere....I didn't get any tho...lol...

Just a quick addition to the topic, but my son came into the room this morning saying, MOM, I AM NOT GOING TO SCHOOL! Pointing to the news, he was like, today is Thursday, 9 - 11, we'll be under attack. I had to pause and not hit my black mother button, and say, Boy, yo ass is going to school...But I thought about his last school and its approximation to the Pentagon. It was basically right across the street from it. After some pancakes and sausage and my telling him he's at a new school now, he was cool.

The bonus...I got to drop him off so my ass didn't come to work until 10AM!! :-)

i was in school just like bammy. I was in 10th grade and I was in my african american studies class w/ my teacher ms starnes. she had a tight jerry curl. but anyway we were doing what we normally do some people were playing spades, I couldnt get in on a game so i was in a corner shootin dice wit da rest of da dudes(real talk) so all of a sudden ms starnes put the tv on cnn. so we were all watchin what was goin on but nobody really took it seriously so in between my roll i would glance up at the screen. next thing u know they made a announcement that we were leaving early. So as we were all waitin around for the buses to arrive thats when i really started lookin at what was goin on then all i could remember was i hope they arent coming here next(cuz we got a lot of historical shit downtown and my dad worked down there from time to time)

Okay you whipper snappers.. LOL!

I was getting ready for work that morning and then my daughter was 7. My normal routine is to turn on Fox news in the morning (usually to see who died in Oakland the night before - this ish off da chain) But I saw the first building get hit and then the second.. it was truly terrorfying to say the least. I worked for Otis Spunkmeyer (yeah the cookie company) and after smoking a fatty (real talk) I remember getting on the freeway and nobody.. I mean nobody was rude on the freeway. It was like everyone was in a dream like state. My daughter still remembers the day the towers fell and we had a long discussion about it at home this morning. Truly is a lesson on how to spread love - not hate.

I was driving to my workstudy job at school. I was listening to the radio, when they broke in with the news that the World Trade Center had been hit by a plane. I remember crying when I got to work. I worked in the dorms and when I got there, everybody was downstairs watching the news. We all stood around in disbelief, trying to comprehend what had just happened.

Translation for all who don't know Chrissy:

I was @ home in the bed sleeping my oldest (3 chuldren, 4 cousins, two uncles, and 6 neices - all in a one bedroon apartment) was maybe 2 in a half or 3 @ the time and every morning when her daddy (Juarez) got up she got up with him he made her her breakfast (breakfast burritos anyone?) and left for work (there's fruit needs pickin'!), he ALWAYS turned the tv on for her cause he knew i was gonna be sleeping (lazy immigrants!), lol she was a smart kid so she knew how to flip channels and stuff (plus they ain't got no remotes cross the border), i am KNOCKED out (tequila induced) and i can hear her voice saying mommy wake-up (Mami, , despierta!) look , i was like girl i am not about to watch Dora and a talking backpack (plus they sellouts for not speaking 100% spanish 100% of the time!), she left me alone, like 5 mins after that my phone rang and my momma was yelling TURN THE TV TO A NEWS CHANNEL NOW (and NOT KESS 107.9 FM, Radio La Que Buena)... i was like which one and why is something wrong with Shad(iquo) (my older brother, i am thinking lawd this nigga in a shootout or a chase with the police (never seen THAT happen..) she like naw just put it on any news channel , i turned over to grab the remote to turn it rub the sleep out my eyes and saw the 2nd plane hit and thought why is my momma telling me to watch a movie?????? (This don't look like Selena!!!!) I had a job interview that day too (housecleaning at Marriott), i didn't go, my boyfriend (Hector), who is now my hubby (illegal identity name: Juarez) came home from work (fired AGAIN?!?!?), and didn't go back that day (or any day afterwards). I remember that every single channel including MTV, BET even Nickelodeon (AND Telemundo AND Univision) was doing coverage, i was scared for a long time after this attack happened (She DOES look kinda middle eastern/Bolivian/Honduran/Brazilian/Pakastani), just afraid that this was it, my lil safe world was over...(Juarez: We don't need Homeland Security. Our land already secuure, homes! Chrissy Maria: Calm down, papi! They said they were gonna guard THE port - they ain't said shit about DEport!)

I was a sophmore in school at the time...i was taking all afternoon classes that semester so my moms called me to wake me up to say some crazy shit is doing on downtown on the news (im from nyc)...
I turn on the tv and boom there is was..just smoke and fire everywhere and im thinking..oh my god..thats the twin towers and shit burning on tv. I was just down there a few days ago..and i knew some people that worked in those buildings. It was one of the craziest days of my life..just tryin to call people i know to make sure they were ok. My aunt was on her way to work..late as usual..so she just missed being in the building. My boyfriend cus ran out the building just in time and was actually on the cover of the ny times the next day. It was so hectic. But tell me why the whole ny state school system was off for the next few days..except for my damn school..because of the fucking professors was like..noone should take off..we have to show the terrorists that you cant stop us. Next day people at school falling out from the trama because they had no time to greave..how fucking annoying.
