Tooting My Own Horn.....

As yall all know by now, i got 2 beautiful children, and I am doing this post today bout my oldest, i wanna toot my parenting horn cause damn it i am doing a good job....My oldest, my daughter, very determined, bright, smart, gifted, she accomplished all of her milestones early i swear the girl took her 1st step when she was 2 weeks away from being 10 months old, she never liked sitting in the walker she stood outside of it and pushed that ho, lol that is how she learned how to walk. When she was 18 months old she was able to sit and hold conversations with adults, and ppl would ask us, how old is she we would tell em and they'd be like, noooooooooooooooooo she seems older than that, cause she really was ahead of her peers. When she was 2 she went to daycare, and the daycare she went to, all the kids were school age, she wasn't, but the teacher felt that Alexus was capable of learning what all the other kids knew, and of course Lex didn't disappoint, she sat there with the pre-schoolers and did what they did, she learned how to spell and write her whole name by the time she was 2 1/2......

I never suspected the kid was a genius, lol EVER people said it all the time ummmm Alexus got more sense than yall give her credit for, so here comes Pre-K she is 4 and going to school and she LOVES it, only thing is, the work the teachers gave her, bored her, she would finish before all the other kids, and would turn her paper over and draw on the back of it, lol we ignored the fact that she was bored, what could we do as parents, we were like whatever she will just have to get over it, and keep it moving.....Kindergarten comes along and in december of that year, right before winter break her kindergarten teacher called and was like look we need to talk about Alexus. Of course i panicked, i was like lawd de hell my child do, she is an angel, so it's gotta be something else.....Get to the school talk to the teacher she was like look Alexus is bored outta her mind in this class, she is way ahead of the other kids, and needs something to challenge her so we are asking you if we can test her for the Talented and Gifted Program, we think it will do her some good, me and her daddy YELPED... we were like hell yeah test her, of course she passed with flying colors, and has been in the program since.....

Yesterday when Alexus got home from practice she called me @ work and said Mommy guess what, i got a letter in my backpack for you and daddy about me getting the chance to go to a Vanguard Academy, yall gotta fill it out so i can take it back, her ass made it sound all non- chalant, i was like Lex, back up sweetie, u telling me you get the chance to test for a vanguard school baby, she was like yeah momma because i scored so high on my TAKS test (state regulated thing they make all the kids here take every year) i get the chance to test. I YELPED again, lol so excited and proud of, because i have always wanted the best for my kids, and i swear since she has been in my life she makes being a parent a lil easier cause she is such a hard worker as far as school goes, she sets goals and achieves em, and she pushes herself to do well. So i am saying all this to my blog ppl to let yall know that, my kid, my oldest is the smartest lil thing i know, and when she starts junior high next year she will be @ a vanguard academy, which means come high school time she will get the opportunity to attend Townview the best damn school in the nation, also a vanguard academy, which means scholarship opportunities, which means we ain't gotta pay for college. I FEEL LIKE DANCING i am so proud of my baby......
